KingCote SeriesControlled-Release (Polymer Coated) Urea
Nitrogen released in step with crop demand, from a single application.
Key product advantages
Loss reduction: Cuts nitrogen leaching by 30–50% and volatilization by 70% vs. conventional urea, directly lowering N₂O emissions.
Labor efficiency: Requires 1–2 applications per season instead of 3–4, cutting fuel and equipment costs by ~20%.
Yield optimization: Synchronizes N supply with crop demand, boosting uptake efficiency by 25–40% and protein content in grains.
Product description
Coated urea is a controlled-release fertilizer in which each urea granule is encapsulated by a hydrophobic polymer coating, extending nitrogen release into the soil over weeks or months.
Precision agriculture engineering
Polymer Coated Urea (PCU) is engineered for precision agriculture, particularly in high-value crops (e.g., turfgrass, horticulture, fruits) and environmentally sensitive zones. Its temperature- and moisture-responsive polymer coating ensures nitrogen release aligns with plant growth cycles, minimizing waste.
Broad crop compatibility & application
PCU/PSCU/POCU are appropriate for most field crops, especially corn, wheat, rice and tomato. PCF is appropriate for flowers, gardens and lawns. Apply by furrow or hole application; the amount and method are determined by crop, soil conditions and target yield.
Lower rates, same crop demand
Reduces the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied while maintaining the growth needs of crops, and is suitable for the cultivation of crops such as corn.
Specification
Available in several coating types and release periods.

Key usage scenarios
Where controlled-release urea delivers the most value.
Large-scale agriculture
Reduces application frequency in field crops like corn and wheat, especially in climate-variable regions.
Greenhouse cultivation
Prevents nutrient burn in delicate seedlings via gradual N release, even under intensive irrigation.
Eco-vulnerable areas
Protects waterways from nitrate leaching in rainy regions or sandy soils with low retention capacity.
Urban landscaping
Sustains golf courses and parks with single-season coverage, reducing traffic disruption from repeated applications.
Advantages
Sustainability and productivity together, in one application.
Loss reduction
Cuts nitrogen leaching by 30–50% and volatilization by 70% vs. conventional urea, directly lowering N₂O emissions.
Labor efficiency
Requires 1–2 applications per season instead of 3–4, cutting fuel and equipment costs by ~20%.
Yield optimization
Synchronizes N supply with crop demand, boosting uptake efficiency by 25–40% and protein content in grains.
Environmental safety
Lowers soil acidification and groundwater contamination while preserving microbial biodiversity.
Cost-effectiveness
Lowers long-term input costs despite higher initial pricing, with ROI achieved in 2–3 seasons through yield gains.
Sustainable productivity
PCU merges sustainability with productivity, making it ideal for modern resource-conscious farming and regulatory-compliant operations under tightening fertilizer ordinances.
