TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

POLY-P® is Kingenta's proprietary phosphorus enhancement technology developed to solve the long-standing challenge of phosphorus immobilization in agricultural soils. Utilizing biodegradable polyaspartic acid, POLY-P® dramatically improves phosphorus mobility, availability, and plant root uptake efficiency.

BIODEGRADABLE POLYASPARTIC ACID COMPLEXATION

Traditional phosphate fertilizers rapidly react with cations in the soil—such as calcium (Ca²⁺) in alkaline soils, or iron (Fe³⁺) and aluminium (Al³⁺) in acidic soils—forming insoluble precipitates that lock up to 70–80% of applied phosphorus.

POLY-P® acts as a high-affinity complexing agent that selectively binds metallic cations before they can lock with phosphate ions. By dismantling these nutritional blockages, POLY-P® keeps phosphorus in a free, bio-available form near the root zone, fueling vigorous early-stage root establishment and season-long growth.

POLY-P® operates through three distinct chemical and physiological mechanisms to maximize soil nutrient utilization.

Cation Blockage Elimination

POLY-P® complexing polymers wrap around free calcium, iron, and aluminium ions in soil solution, preventing them from forming insoluble phosphate salts (dicalcium phosphate, iron phosphate, etc.).
